Swiss company launches the latest in an endless line of limited edition ‘Moon Watch’ Models.
The new model is expected to go like something off a shovel
We’ve had ‘The First Omega in Space’ Special Edition – plus Apollo XI 20th, 25th, 30th, 35th, 40th and 45th Anniversary models.
Enough already? Not a bit.
Omega’s marketeers have now unveiled their masterpiece: a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to celebrate the first ‘Motion Moment’ on the lunar surface.
At precisely 9.07 pm GMT on 20th July 1969, Neil Armstrong took his first Giant Leak for Mankind – and more besides.
Using the Lunar Module’s rudimentary Waste Management System, he declared ‘all systems go’ and collected the proceeds in a special self-sealing bag filled with germicide.
Omega’s press release reads:
‘The iconic Speedmaster has been reimagined, with distinctive but tasteful design touches: a unique ‘Poopy Award’ logo for the dial, plus matching brown leather strap. This extraordinary watch recognises the unsung heroes of the Apollo program: men and women who pushed the boundaries of toiletry, in pursuit of our greatest ever scientific achievement. Only 25 will be produced: the total number of times that somebody curled one out while on the lunar surface’.
‘Twelve men: twenty-five historic movements’.
